The watch began in 1995, and the site is manned by volunteers from the Cecil Bird Club and other affiliated Clubs in the area. Generally counters are only present from ~ 9AM - 12 PM. Last year we had complete coverage, but it seems we may not have such good fortune this year. ( Acutally, we have only missed a few days thus far, ) For more complete site information, including volunteering at the site, view www.udel.edu/cecilbirds To volunteer for count dates in November, contact me at gonbrdn@dol.net It was a glorious fall day at the watch, probably as pretty as it will be for the season. The weather was mild enough to make it a real pleasure to be out, and watch the show. Counters Leslie and Harry Fisher, along with official hawk watch dogs, also had company with visitors from Harford, Baltimore County, and a visitor from New Zealand working in the DC area. Red-tails kept trickling through singly and in pairs between 0900 and 1245: BV-3, TV-21, BE-2, SS-15, CH-2, RS-3, RT-39, UB-1 winds from WNW Leslie Fisher Watch Coordinator ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
