Tim lived in Anchorage Alaska and was a superb wilderness guide, birding leader and all around great person. He died tragically and suddenly of cardiac arrest at age 37 in the Nome airport in May 2001 between a Pribiloff Islands and Gambell birding trip. A memorial scholarship fund was established in Tim's name. The email message, below, from his brother, Mike, deals with the Tim Schantz Scholarship Fund opportunity for 2003. If you know anyone that might be a candidate for this scholarship please pass the information on to them or please feel free to forward this message to others that may be interested. I copied and pasted the text from the flier into the message, below. If you would like a formatted copy of the flier, complete with artwork, let me know and I'll email the one page MS Word document to you. The formatted flier would be good for posting or distributing at local bird club meetings. Thanks.
