So it is probably available at many other video places for those who do not subscribe to cable. I had never heard of the film before, but was wryly amused at the story line. Back in the late eighties when I was chasing extensively, I saw an analysis of the economic value of one rare bird to Brownsville, TX. At the time there were many rarities showing up along the Rio Grande. I remarked to friends that it would not surprise me if one of these birds had been secreted into the country from Mexico and released just for its financial impact. And if one that had showed up previously wasn't an illegal immigrant, then someone would surely figure out such a scheme in the future and execute. While there has been -- to the best of my knowledge -- no evidence of such chicanery associated with rare birds, someone must have been listening up in Canada, where rare birds in the poor maritime provinces have had a similar financial boon to local economies. Bottom line: I should have written the screen play and shopped it around a long time ago, although I probably was not the only one with the idea!
