It alighted on a branch of our backyard maple for less than a minute. Probable adult female, based on size & plumage. Her/it's visit scattered most of the birds at our feeder (not all -- many of the House Sparrows stuck around). Then she/it flew off to the west, toward the C & O Canal & river. Some Dark-eyed Juncos and White-throated Sparrows were around, too.
