Temp.: low 30s F Wind : calm Viewing conditions: - viewing area from NE to SW (House blocked 1/2 sky incl. moon) - moderate fog. Horizon mostly obscured by fog although some bright meteors were still visible. Clearest area was overhead where Leo and Jupiter were located. Counts ----- Time Raw Countrate Interval Counts (meteors/minute) 5:20 - 5:25 am 26 5.2 5:32 - 5:40 am 60 7.5 5:40 - 5:45 am 39 7.8 5:46 - 5:51 am 59 11.8* 5:52 - 5:57 am 36 7.2 5:58 - 6:03 am 17 3.4 * predicted peak was around 5:30am. Seems like it may have actually occurred a few minutes later, 05:49:30 am +/- 5 minutes BTW, Hubble emerged from the storm just fine! During the storm, the spacecraft was programmed to face away from Leo, and solar panels oriented to minimize the area that could potentially subjected to impact. During this period, Hubble conducted observations in the Helix Nebula in Aquarius. -- Shireen Gonzaga Baltimore whimbrel@comcast.net ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
