I visited Black Hill today and found the Hermit Thrush Mike Bowen reported, as well as RB NUTHATCH and a couple of PINE SISKIN, all on the Turkey Hill loop. Ducks in Ten Mile Creek part of the lake included, in addition to the Ringnecks, Wigeon and scaup that Mike reported, small numbers of Bufflehead, Gadwall, Hooded Merg, and a couple of PB Grebe. About 50 Ruddy Ducks at the 121 bridge. About 50 Am. Coot seen from the VC. Joe Alexander Middletown, Frederick Co., MD Frederick Co. On November 19, I found around 500 RING-NECKED DUCK in the Ten-mile Creek area of Black Hill Regional Park. The flock also contained about 50 AMERICAN WIGEON and a single female LESSER SCAUP. The east end of the lake had a small group of BUFFLEHEAD and 3 HOODED MERGANSER flew over while I was checking the dead trees at the extreme east end. The west end of the lake had hundreds of RUDDY DUCK scattered all over, together with AMERICAN COOT. There was a FOX SPARROW at the visitor center feeders, and I found another 4 FOX SPARROW at various bushy places around the park. At one point I had 3 HERMIT THRUSH in sight at the same time.
