The watch began in 1995, and the site is manned by volunteers from the Cecil Bird Club and other affiliated Clubs in the area. Generally counters are only present from ~ 9AM - 12 PM. Last year we had complete coverage, but it seems we may not have such good fortune this year. ( Acutally, we have only missed a few days thus far, ) For more complete site information, including volunteering at the site, view www.udel.edu/cecilbirds Our season is winding down, but there was certainly a lovely flight this morning, just myself, the 2 dogs and the tranquility of Turkey Point. The highlight was certainly the immature Goshawk that flew low, folded up and dove into the woods near the lighthouse. Also, a brilliant russet Northern Harrier was quite breathtaking. And the Red-tails were flying, quite high and all on same SSW flight path. >From 0930 to 12:30, WNW winds: BV-2, TV-6, BE-5, NH-1, SS-1, NG-1, RT-46, UR-1 ( 63) Leslie Fisher Watch Coordinator ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
