Subject: Cave Swallow non-report MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Well, I finally got down to Pt. Lookout today, but only had about 2 hours to bird. To cut to the chase, I didn't see any swallows of any species. I arrive around 1:40 pm, and left at about 3:40, spending most of my time at the point (opposite the pond). Perhaps the conditions weren't conducive to seeing these birds, assuming they're still around - it was cool (temps were in the upper 30's, hovering just below 40), with a high layer of alto-cumulus clouds and a light breeze from the WSW. Highlights consisted of: 1 SNOW BUNTING (flew over, calling - I never actually saw the bird) 1 male HARLEQUIN DUCK (still at the south end of the causeway) 1 BROWN PELICAN 1 NO. GANNET I had heard that some of the NJ Cave Swallows were seen feeding over corn fields, so I cruised along a few back roads near the point but didn't see anything of note. Good luck to anyone who looks for them.
