Though smudged with black, its bill was dark red throughout its length and its completely black hood seemed to even lack flecks of white. The rest of the fairly large number of Laughing Gulls on the pond were sporting plumages much more appropriate for this time of year. While there, I watched a flock of 300 Bonaparte's Gulls fly over. Seems like a big number for this county and probably for any "inland" location.
