Twenty-seven species have shown up for the feast. Along roads near Tunis Mills this morning I found seven Killdeer and two Meadowlarks and ten Bob White Quail. Geese in this area have gathered into a single flock of over 8000 and are digging through the snow layer to eat grass in a couple of suitable fields. Some of the creeks are becoming frozen over near the headwaters, but there is plenty of open water well above the Miles River, and the Miles is fully clear.
