I arrived about 9:30, and had the place to myself. The hiking was good, and the scenery beautiful. At the pier there were a flock of Bufflehead and one female Ruddy Duck. In the inlet there was a small flock of Black Duck, probably frozen out of the ponds. A large flock of gulls included a handful of Laughing Gulls. As I approached the fenced-off area, two Snow Buntings flew in, approaching within 6 feet, and then an American Pipit landed even closer to me. All three birds put on a great show, feeding unconcernedly near my feet. Sue Hamilton Calvert Co --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable.
