Hello Everyone, A little different today as I concentrated mostly on = land birds, sparrows in particular. I was encouraged by the report of = White-crowned Sparrow that was reported by Kevin Graaf on Saturday's = trip to Point Lookout. Alas, I was unable to relocate any of that = species today. I did have a good day however with the following sparrow = species. Savannah, Field, Fox, White-throated, Junco, Towhee,Swamp, = Song, All of these birds were found on Cornfield Harbor Rd and Camp = Brown Rd in good #'s. On Longneck Rd I also found >< 40 American Pipits, = along with great looks at 3 female and 1 young male Northern Harrier. = Looking at Longneck Creek and Deep Creek from the roadway (all the farms = along Longneck Rd are posted) I had scope views of Black Duck, Mallard, = and Hooded Merganser. I met up with Patty Craig after lunch and we = duplicated most everything seen in the morning. We still had some = daylight left so we decided to go to the point where we had a long look = at a perched Barred Owl just outside the Park boundaries and a brief = look at a 2nd Barred Owl which responded to my pishing for sparrows = inside the Park. The Harlequin Duck and all the other varieties of = waterfowl mentioned in other posts are still in abundance and today = seemed even more then has been here all season. We also had a great look = at one of the resident Bald Eagles perched on a very close piling at the = boat launch facility.  Good Birding, Marty Cribb, Point Lookout, Md
