No Snow Buntings but two American Pipits and one very handsome Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed Sparrow. We tried very hard to make it a Nelson's but that didn't work out (thanks to Jim Stasz for verifying the bird from a photo I took). Little activity on the bay -- mostly Buffleheads, and a few Common Loons, Horned Grebes and one Ruddy Duck. Four Sanderlings and at least three Killdeer along the water's edge. Pishing brought out the hordes of Yellow-rumps feeding on the plentiful Wax Myrtles as well as a few Hermit Thrushes and Brown Thrashers. Reminder: Flag Ponds is only open to the public on weekends from Labor Day to Memorial Day.
