The following report is for the Perry Point VA Complex in Cecil County, MD. Yesterday (12/19) was a good day with a lot of the usual suspects around. Waterfowl was not as numerous as it has been, though I did see hundreds if not thousands of Tundra Swan up to three miles off shore (on the Susquehanna Flats). In addition to Tundra Swan other waterfowl seen were: Canvasback, Redhead, A. Black Duck, L. Scaup, Mute Swan, Canada Goose, Hooded Merganser, & Ring-necked Duck. Bald Eagles as usual were around. Also Cooper's Hawk and a Peregrine Falcon put on a little show for me. I was gazing across one of the fields when I saw a Cooper's Hawk come shooting out of the woods, which sent the starlings flying. Soon after the Copper's appeared a Peregrine flew out of the woods and attacked the Cooper's- quite a sight. Today was not as exciting with the same waterfowl present with the addition of Common Merganser. The Cooper's remained but the Peregrine could not be located. What is the latest date for Peregrine in MD? I don=92t think we have any resident Peregrine so this one must be a late migrant. Other than the Cooper's, the only thing worth mentioning is the 15-minute look I had at a Pileated Woodpecker. He was quite cooperative 'perching' in the sun calling all the while. Brown Creeper also was noted today. =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D =========================================================================
