The highlight of the morning was a Brown Pelican which made two passes close to shore before flying off. I was surprised to see a pelican this time of year and north of the Bay Bridge. Also present was a large raft of Scaup (the ones closest to me were mostly Greater), smaller numbers of Bufflehead and Common Goldeneye, plus one Ruddy Duck and one Long Tailed Duck. The only gulls were Ring Billed, Herring and a few Great Black Backed far over the Bay.
