Apparently it was at women's feeder- I presume for a while- and she put the feeder in a bird cage and trapped the bird as it came to eat. She is going to call me back with more details (where and when it was trapped). They have other hummers there that are non-releasable and are housing it with them. I asked how they knew it was a rufous and she said it tail looked different and it kept fanning it. She said I was welcome to come and look at it. It might be worthwhile to have someone knowledgeable check it out. ( I am not) Also, she asked what to do with it- I suggested keep it until spring and release it then. Any other opinions?
