Today I birded (and counted) at the Perry Point VA Complex in Cecil County, MD. 51 species were noted. 8 sparrow species were tallied (if you include Towhee and Junco). I saw my first American Tree Sparrow of the year today. Other birds of note included 13 species of waterfowl, Bonaparte's Gull, and MERLIN. The Merlin was seen briefly flying over the Rail Road Tracks near the V.A.'s main gate. The Pileated Woodpecker that has been seen regularly lately could not be found today.
