I just stepped out behind the firehouse and whistled like a screech owl in hope that I would attract what ever may be back there. I was pleasently surprised to hear a Great Horned Owl call back to me repetitively. -----Original Message----- From: Chris Starling [mailto:christopher.starling@MED.VA.GOV] Sent: Sunday, December 29, 2002 7:39 PM To: MDOSPREY@HOME.EASE.LSOFT.COM Subject: [MDOSPREY] Cecil County 12/29 Greetings: I hope everyone's holiday season has been a joyous one! I saw my first American Tree Sparrow of the year today. Other birds of note included 13 species of waterfowl, Bonaparte's Gull, and MERLIN. The Merlin was seen briefly flying over the Rail Road Tracks near the V.A.'s main gate. The Pileated Woodpecker that has been seen regularly lately could not be found today.
