This small = flock was located in the midst of many other waterfowl in the Potomac = River, visible from the boardwalk at Piscataway National Park in Prince = George's County. Over 150 other Canada Geese were present in this = general area in the morning when the white-fronted goose was seen = (around 9:15 am). However, the geese began to leave by about 9:45 am, = and had cleared out by about 10 am. The geese had not reappeared as of = 4:30 pm. Present in the area all day were hundreds of Gadwall and = American Wigeon (lots of Gadwall courtship activity), scaup (mostly = Lesser but some Greater present), Mallard, Black Duck, Ruddy Duck, = Common Merganser, Tundra Swan, Ring-necked Duck, Bufflehead, American = Coot (flock of about 450), Redhead, Canvasback, 1 male Northern Pintail, = and 1 male Common Goldeneye. Other highlights in this area were Brown = Thrasher, Savannah Sparrow, Winter Wren, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, = Eastern Phoebe, and Swamp Sparrow. Happy birding in these last few days of 2002- Gwen Brewer Waldorf, MD glbrewer@comcast.net =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D =========================================================================
