Good numbers of ducks on the bayside causeway, including the male Harlequin Duck (though he vanished when I took my eye off him, not to be found again), many Surf Scoter, a few Common Scoter and only one White-winged that I could find. There were also a lot of Long-tailed Duck, Bufflehead and Common Goldeneye around. Down at the very point, there was an adult Great Cormorant some distance off in the Potomac, but he kept on diving and didn't give very good views. Before coming into the park I stopped at a couple of places en route. One open field had around 30 American Pipits, and about a mile further on there was a very sparrowy field which had Field, American Tree, Song, Savannah, White-throated and White-crowned. Looked like it could have some real goodies during migration. Stopped on the way back at Sandgates to digiscope "Shrimpie" , and he (?) was there at the side of the restaurant, competing for scraps with the GBBs.
