I took a VERY leisurely walk to the top of the hill, not really expecting to see much of anything, and was rewarded with the following: (and not a single "trash" bird!!) Red-tailed hawk mature & immature Sharp-shinned hawk Black vulture Hermit thrush Cedar waxwings Northern cardinal Gray catbird Red-bellied woodpecker American robin Northern mockingbird Tufted titmouse Carolina chickadee White-breasted nuthatch Blue jay American crow White-throated sparrow Carolina wren Slate-colored junco Justa-gull At one point, I had two waxwings and two robins at the top of a tree when the immature redtail floated up behind them like a ghost bird. One robin stood his ground while the other three birds took cover. The redtail simply slipped sideways on the wind and disappeared over the hillside. ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
