Along with the typical assortment of winter birds --- Car. chickadees, WB nuthatches, E. bluebirds, YR warblers, Tufted titmice, Northern flickers, Song sparrows, Canada geese, and Ring-necked ducks, we saw 5 hooded mergansers (2 males and 3 female/immatures) on Cash Lake, a Copper's hawk overhead, and a lone Am. Tree Sparrow in the Pepco Demonstration area at the beginning of the trail system.
