One female lit on Leeds Creek in front of our house at 9:15 and proceeded to spend the rest of the morning feeding in the company of the 14+ Lesser Scaup that have been there for several days. This afternoon, Carolyn and I ventured down to Dorchester County - checking the Oakley Street waterfowl staging area, and then proceeding to Blackwater Refuge. Highlights: One male Redhead 20 ft away from shore at Oakley street, amongst the hundreds of Canvasbacks. Also in that area - Common Loon, Lesser Scaup, American Wigeon, Common Goldeneye, Bufflehead, Ruddy, and Oldsquaw. At Blackwater - we were there to especially seek a sighting of one of the Golden Eagles that reports have recently mentioned - and succeeded in viewing a nice fly-over of an Immature Golden. Other highlights there - two female Common Mergansers, two Hooded Mergansers, numerous Pintail, Shovelers, Mallards, and Snow Geese. There were several Northern Harriers, one Red-shouldered Hawk, several Bald Eagles, a few Black Ducks, and one Kingfisher.
