That said my first scope about 10 years ago was a Bushnell Spacemaster Scope which I finally retired when I was able to step up in quality. I don't think a couple of hundred dollars is going to be adequate for your needs, it will probably be closer to 450-500 plus 100-150 for a heavy tripod. Try to get the best quality you can afford and you won't regret the sacrifice but buy less quality then you can afford and you will regret the decision.
