We found it quickly, directly off the jetty near the Jetty Restaurant east of Kent Narrows on the south side. Numerous COMMON GOLDENEYE, BUFFLEHEAD, and LONG-TAILED DUCK were in the same vicinity. So was a single female HOODED MERGANSER. Two adult BALD EAGLE were perched nearby when we arrived at about 10 a.m. North of the Narrows there were large flocks of GREATER SCAUP with numerous COMMON GOLDENEYE mixed in. HORNED GREBE was in modest numbers. Off Horsehead Wetlands Center, Queen Anne's County, there was a large flock of TUNDRA SWAN and at least 1000 RUDDY DUCK. On land not much was on the move, but YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS were everywhere. We visited Terrapin Park briefly before returning home west of the Bay Bridge. This is a neat park, with excellent views of the bay under and to the north of the Bridge. Once again, COMMON GOLDENEYE was wonderfully plentiful. Mike and Joy Bowen Bethesda, MD D.H.
