Well the way I could discribe this bird , is that it was much smaller than the other sandpipers that were around,Dunlin,Sanderlings and such. It was mingeling around these birds. The legs were very dark,the bill was short streight and thick , it did not seem to be curved,like you would see on a least or western. It did have a solid gray back and a grayish chest, with white undersides. I would admit that I have been fooled by peep before as we all have,also miss-judging size of sandpipers,but I must also admit that the distance from where we were viewing was excellent and the lighting very good. The pipers were not out in the middle of raymond pool,if you get my point. But everything I know and viewed about peep in the past would indicate that it was a semi-sandpiper.
