We only stayed for two hours, but still managed to see 45 species. = The Barred Owl we saw last week was not showing itsself. We tried = calling, but did not hear a reply. There were several flocks of Pipits = and Horned Larks, nothing mixed in. The Bald Eagle was on its nest. The = Ranger said it did not nest there last year and were hopeful it would = this year. The signs are up, closing off the area, but the nest is easy = to see from the road.=20 Some highlights are: female Hooded Merganser Buffleheads one Canvasback Ruddy Ducks Scaup Mallard Black Ducks Black Vulture Turkey Vulture A.
