Other sparrows seen: Fox, Field, Swamp, Song, and White- throated. Other birds of interest at KAG were a Brown Thrasher and 8 Gadwall. Hooded and Common Mergansers were on the Anacostia River. Working my way downtown, I saw a Hermit Thrush at Kenilworth Park, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls at Anacostia Park, and 22 Black-crowned Night Herons at the north end of Washington Channel. At mid-day, the Tundra Swan was between the Memorial and 14th St Bridges but was back at Roosevelt Island later in the afternoon. On the Potomac River between Gravelly Point and Founders Park in Alexandria were seen Horned Grebe, Pied-billed Grebe, Red-breasted Merganser, both scaup, Bufflehead, and Ruddy Ducks.
