The best were a pair of Buffleheads, a YB Sapsucker, a pair of Am. Black Ducks, and an adult Bald Eagle circling overhead, the first I've ever seen in DC. (Don't spend much time there, birding or otherwise.) It was interesting to see that a new branch is being added to the boardwalk, branching to the south about halfway out the existing boardwalk. As usual, the most numerous birds were crows, but I'm not sure whether they were all American. Can someone tell me when young American Crows stop sounding like Fish Crows? There were a lot giving that low-pitched squawk, but none saying "uh-uh".
