Schoolhouse Pond is located in Upper Marlboro in Prince George's County, directly across from the County Administration Building. To get there: From US 301: Turn onto MD 725 (Marlboro Pike). This intersection has a traffic light. If coming from the north, this will be on your right. Stay on MD 725 for about 3/4 mile. You will go through one light for MD 202. Stay on MD 725. After about 1/4 mile past MD 202, make a right at the next light for Governor Oden Bowie Drive. Schoolhouse Pond is on the right, directly across from the County Administration Building (a large white office building). A trail goes the whole way around the pond. The bird was at the open water on the left hand side of the pond(from the road). From the Washington Beltway (I-495): Take exit 17 for Landover Road (MD 202) towards Upper Marlboro (to the south & east). Stay on MD 202 for about 11 miles until it deadends at a traffic light at MD 725 (Marlboro Pike). Make a right at the light. After about a quarter mile, turn right at the next light which is Governor Oden Bowie Drive. Schoolhouse Pond is on the right. Please note that during work hours, the metered parking is constantly enforced, so you should put some time on your meter.
