We could not believe it so we followed it and its bell and found = the owner. A gentleman was hawking with it, trying for quail (with no = luck). The hawk was a beautiful male, 17 years old. It landed in close = once, but was not quite comfortable with us there to land on the = gentleman's arm. We had a nice chat with the owner and off they went for = more quail. He did mention that he felt the quail population had gone = down 75% in the 20 years he had been flying hawks in Terrapin Park. We = jump one covey every 8 - 10 trips there. Not good news.
