MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I thought that we had a good cold Winter..actually it was more of a = normal one. What I did think was unusual was the lack of Northern birds = pushing south. At my parents house this past late Fall/early Winter my = mother (who lives at the skinnies part of Maryland, the point in = Washington County, ie Hancock MD)informed me that they had several = Red-headed nuthatches. But they left before by-mid December and have = never returned. She also said that last week while she was filling the = feeders, she tought she heard a flock of Evening Grosbeaks..she rushed = put filled a platform feeder with of grey-stripe sunflower(a favorite of = these birds) but she said they never showed. I have also noticed a lack of posts of other birds of this sort..ie Pine = Siskin and the like. Is this the result of El Nino or La Nina..I heard = on the news last night that the Iditerog(sp?) Dog-sled race in Alaska = was going to bem moved over 300 miles North because a lack of snow in = ALAKSA!!! Does anyone else feel that this is a strange year?
