I had a towhee and a fox sparrow visit the ground around the feeders, the first of the year. The birds are certainly bolder with the snow falling. I put some seed out on the covered platform feeders, take two steps away, and the juncos and sparrows move in. I left my garage door open (the big one for the cars) while I went to the feeders. I was gone about five minutes. When I came back, I had at least 20 birds in the garage eating the bird seed that always manages to spill on the floor. Naturally, when you walk back to the garage, they scatter to the back of the garage and manage to bonk on the windows until I can make my way to the back and shoo them out. I am running out of black oil sunflower seeds. Does anyone deliver? At 8:00 am it is still snowing pretty good here in Queenstown, despite the weatherman showing that it is not snowing here. Enjoy the day!
