Staying close to home I ventured to the Edgewater Stables in Rock Creek Park near the intersection of Conn. Ave and Calvert St. NW. 24 Wood Ducks 36 Mallard all sitting on the ice in Rock Creek in spite of some horrible people dropping large chunks of ice off the bridge into the creek and scaring the heck out of me. It sounded like gun fire when the ice hit the water/ice below. 2 Red Tailed Hawks Juncos White Throated sparrows everywhere - the manure pile around the stable looked like it was alive until I got close enough to see it was covered in birds. Cardinals Pileated Woodpecker Red Bellied Woodpecker Downy Woodpecker Flyover flock of Robins Ring Billed Gulls Starlings Rock Doves White Tailed Deer Denise Ryan Washington, DC ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
