Two things surprisd me. The first is the lack of Carolina Wrens. We usually have a few singing and visiting the suet all winter but lately (the last week) I have heard or seen none. (this morning I heard one here at work). Also had a Swamp Sparrow visit the feeder yesterday, I believe this is a yard bird, but I am not sure (have to check). Other birds included: Canada Goose Ring-billed Gull Carolina Chickadee Tufted Titmouse Northern Cardinal White-brested Nuthatch Red-bellied Woodpecker Downy Woodpecker Blue Jay European Starling Red-winged Blackbird Common Grackle Song Saprrow Savannah Sparrow White-throated Sparrow Swamp Sparrow House Sparrow Dark-eyed Junco E. Towhee American Robin Red-Shouldered Hawk (2) Notable: A total lack of finches. ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
