The birds were = feeding at the roadside and flushed whenever a car came by, but = immediately returned to the same spot. During the day waterfowl viewing = was difficult either because of fog or high winds. Lesser Scaup was by = far the most common duck we saw. The only other notable bird was a = Catbird at Terrapin Nature Area where the trails are still snow-covered = with deep slush at some points. Red-wings and Grackles were establing = territories. Robins joined sparrows and Cardinals at roadsides for = feeding.
