A single American Tree Sparrow enjoyed the black-oiled sunflower seed on the front stoop. It eventually moved to the back when the Grackle hords retreated to the woods. Not as many birds today as yesterday. Perhaps winter is coming to and end. I did hear my first Bluebird in some time. They could be moving back into the area. Maybe I should watch the the bird activity instead of the weather channel. The storm was lighter than some models predicted, and it warmed nicely in the afternoon. The Rusty Black Bird and Field Sparrow did not make return visits. The Dark-eyed Junco flock is also thinning. With the snow melt, the birds are probably retreated into the forest. One new food choice was noted. I put out some beef for the crows. The mockingbird in the area found it and found it tasty. Mimus polyglottos -a meat eater. I did not know that. Good birding.
