MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi MD, To add to recent Red-necked Grebe sightings, there were at least 4 this morning around 9:00 on the Potomac River at the Terminus of the C&O Canal in Cumberland, Allegany Co., MD. There have been a number of postings of grebe sightings to the WV listserv with an amazing 65 birds on Cheat Lake near Morgantown, WV, on Wednesday, 2/26. J.B. Churchill told me this morning that he saw 11 birds there yesterday. Gary Felton, who saw the 65 birds on Cheat Lake, also reference a message posted to the Cayuga Birds listserv with a possible explanation for the influx of birds. You can check it at: http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html#1046380868 If you have open water in your area, you might want to check it. Happy trails ....
