It wasn't long before two more appeared and one even gave us a lesson on how to swallow a fish that was really too big to handle. We decided to walk down closer to the shore along the Potomac and we pleasantly surprised to see about 12 more fishing. We also think we may have seen a scaup but after trying to get closer by walking on the canal and going through deep snow to where we thought we had seen it, no scaup. It just gave us the slip. On the far bank of the Potomac were five mute swans. We surprised to see them there. About 30 canada geese, one killdeer, one piliated woodpecker, one songsparrow, a few bluebirds, four robins and one carolina wren.
