I went to see a rehabbed Screech Owl be released back into its former territory. As I was driving to the meeting place, up Rt# 27 to Manchester, a Pileated Woodpecker flew right over the road just above my car. Then, on my way home, at Snydersburg Rd. and Albert Rill Rd., there was a Kingfisher sitting on the wire over the road. I had not seen either of the last two birds all winter. Also, the Harris' Sparrow was at it's post about 1:15 PM. Dirk Robinson had come down from PA and waited almost 2 1/2 hours to see it, after getting a fleeting glimpse when he first arrived. It then stayed for several minutes for a better look. Spring is coming!
