The entire body except for the right wing and part of the right chest is under water. It seemed to be in quite good condition. It is located a couple of feet from the shore on the south side of the peninsula. Not sure how long the ice will last with the warm weather today. Artemesia had an unusually diverse collection of water birds this morning. - Common and Red-breasted Mergansers - One male Canvasback - Redhead - Lesser Scaup - Ring-necked Duck - American Wigeon - Ruddy Duck - Pied-billed Grebe - Red-necked Grebe (4) - American Coot Also saw a Cooper's Hawk and a male Kestrel. An overflight of about 50 Tundra Swan combined with the song of Red-winged Blackbirds to let me know that Spring will be here soon.
