There seem to be Towhees overwintering every year. Numbers vary and I recall a mid-winter count where I found over a dozen compared to some years where there were none (same area). I have found it interesting that towhee was the most reported "blizzard bird" at work. Probably 15-20 people reported them at feeders and often in two's (often both males). Maybe females are more overlooked by non-birders? The blizzard brought a female in to my feeders and she disappeared a couple days later- not to be seen since.
