We started at Black Hills where we saw 12 from the Visitor Center and 7 more west of the Rt. 121 bridge. Next we went to the mouth of the Monocacy. We saw the 2 Red-necked Grebes, the White-winged Scoter, Greater Scaup, Redhead, and 2 Hooded Mergansers. Nothing else, not even a Bufflehead. Crazy place. Next stop was Washington County. We found 5 Red-necked Grebes above Dam 3 looking from the West Virginia side. One Red-necked Grebe even swam into a little creek to be counted in West Virginia. Also present were a male Lesser Scaup and a female Greater. One Herring Gull with the Ringers. Upon returning to College Park, we picked up Kim Caughey and went to Lake Artemesia. We found the same waterfowl that the Saba's reported earlier in the day. Great Day!
