It was at the small end of the Herring Gulls but was not overly petite, so perhaps it was a male. The thaw has let a lot of dead fish float to the surface and there are around 2-3 times as many gulls there as I have been seeing recently. There could be more there - I didn't notice any Lesser Black Backs but I stopped looking after finding the Iceland. Given the feeding frenzy there, other things could well turn up. Also 4-5 RN Grebes in the Basin itself. Good birding Clive Harris Cabin John, Md --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
