The bird was seen "at the trail with the little boardwalk leading out into the water." The observer states, "It was an adult. It was mixed in with a flock of 4 yellow-shafted flickers. ... The whole underside of the wing red unlike the other flickers with yellow under the wing. ... I am sure this bird was a Red-shafted Flicker. The underside of the wing was red and not orange as in hybrids". He is familiar with Red-shafted Flicker from out west. Good luck!
