Best estimate (they kept moving a lot), about 50 birds, wi probably 40 being male; rest, female (or first something-or-other). Largest homogeneous flock of this species we've ever had. No starlings or grackles intermingled (a couple came later to investigate what the strange noises were all about). Very eerie-looking in the late sun.
