GS BUMED" Subject: Roosevelt Island, DC MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Roosevelt Island, Wash, DC, 10 Mar 03, 1130-1230: The snow cover is completely gone and trails fairly dry. The Potomac was running fast, high and muddy. The cold and wind kept most land birds out of sight. Of note were 2 Hermit Thrush and a Hairy Woodpecker. A group of 3 Red-necked Grebe were in the river just north of the footbridge. A group of 6 were working the eddy behind the large rocks located on the NE corner of the island.
