Co., etc. Comments: cc: Charles Kucera MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi Folks, Charlie Kucera and I walked the former Mears Farm property (now part of Patapsco St. Pk) just east of Catonsville yesterday afternoon. The most interesting find was a PINE WARBLER, not in a tree, but foraging on the ground of the former horse pasture, along with numerous robins and Song Sparrows. Also present was one (and probably more) RUSTY BLACKBIRD in a large flock of mostly redwings and cowbirds. Later we visited the largest of the Halethorpe Farms ponds, at the end of Halethorpe Farms Rd., where there were about 20 COMMON MERGANSERs and five or six HOODED MERGANSERs. We stayed through dusk to look for timberdoodles, and were able to see one flying away from us, but that's it. The previous evening, we were given a great show by woodcocks at UMBC, where several birds vocalized for half an hour, and offered us some nice flight displays.
