Highlights included one cooperative Red-necked Grebe, a pair of Bald = Eagles at the south end of the cove, also Canvasbacks, Bufflehead, and = Lesser Scaup. A checking of the Miles River from Rio Vista yielded a Red-throated = Loon and several Horned Grebes along with lots of Surf Scoters, = Goldeneye, and more Scaup. Over at the Claiborne Pier there were several more Horned Grebes and = a Common Loon. And closer to my place, near the Unionville Road bridge over the = Miles River, a D-C Cormorant flew in around noon and was still asleep on = a piling an hour later. Scaup, Canvasbacks and a few Ruddies were also = at that site.
