Some were several hundred yards up from the mouth, only one in the area of the canal bridge. I saw an additional two up river about a mile, in a small backwater. Two pairs of Hooded Mergs were also in Seneca Creek, and four Common Mergs, four Buffleheads, two Wigeon, and a single Coot in the Potomac.
